Every Father's Day, the Princess Margaret Foundation hosts the Journey2conquer cancer event in Toronto to help raise funds for world-leading cancer research and treatment. Annually, thousands of community members raise funds and walk or run a 1km, 3km, or 5km course. In 2024, PMCF announced a partnership with Muuse to provide reusable plates, utensils, and coffee cups at eating and drinking stations for the participants. The used dishware can be returned to designated bins, to be collected by Muuse, washed and sanitized off site for future reuse.

In 2024, the reusables prevented more than 3,400 single-use dishes and cups from entering the waste stream.

PMCF has continued to provide reusables each year, and expanded to other events, such as the Ride2conquer cancer. It is an example of a participatory sports event with thousands of attendees that is able to achieve high levels of reuse.
